While traditionally an animal friendly country, the recent years have seen the demand for animal products skyrocketing in India. The numbers in which these animals are reared is rising steeply, and practices of factory farming marked by isolation, suffering, and relentless pain have become common practice. In this era, where animals are considered as mere commodities, the Living Free campaign aspires to create a space to demand the right for all animals and to stop the consumption, and therefore the exploitative practices common to animal farming.

As the name suggests, The Living Free campaign aims to inspire people to adopt a lifestyle that helps them live free of cruelty to the animals, the environment and themselves. We aspire for a Vegan world in which animals are not killed for our greed.

For this purpose, we’ve empowered activists across the country at the grassroots level to inform and reach out to young adult audience, and campaign for a vegan lifestyle. So far, we’ve successfully conducted outreach in 37 cities, out of which we’re actively working in over 15. We’ve conducted over 10 national campaigns, and reached out to 7 lakh people, using varied methods of outreach such as spot campaigning, stalls and tabling events, national days of action, video outreach and virtual reality.

Our goal for this year is brighter and bigger! We aim to reach out to 4 lakh people by the end of 2017, through persistent and sustained campaigning, through our ever growing activist network.

In the meantime, help us out by signing and more importantly sharing, the pledge to go vegan!
