Hyderabad: Man ‘mows’ down puppies, booked

HYDERABAD: Animal activists are seeking criminal charges against a man who is alleged to have purposely run over two puppies that were taking refuge from the cold weather under his car. The incident came to light on Sunday after People for Animals (PFA), an animal welfare organisation shared the incident on their Facebook page and other social media platforms along with photographs of the bodies of the two puppies that were killed.

“What would you do if you see two tiny pups taking refuge from the cold weather under your car? Move them aside and drive away right? The person that you see in the pictures; however, did exactly the opposite. He ran over the innocent pups and drove away despite people alerting him. Sadly, the pups died on the spot [sic],” read a post by the PFA Hyderabad.

When contacted, Rajendranagar police confirmed that a case has been registered and that they are still investigating the incident. The police are not ruling out the possibility that it could have been an accident. PFA activists could not be reached for their comments.
