Telangana: 100 dogs poisoned near Infosys

HYDERABAD: Animal activists alleged that about 100 stray dogs at Sanskruthi Township near Infosys campus in Anojjiguda have been allegedly poisoned by some unknown persons.
The incident came to light on Saturday after one of the activists of Compassionate Society for Animals was informed of the poisoning by a reporter.
“I immediately rushed to the location, inquired about this matter. Some of the people near the C Block eateries of the campus have confirmed that the township’s committee has hired dog killers. The dogs were killed yesterday (Friday) around 11pm,” said N S Pravalika of Compassionate Society for Animals. “Some people inside the campus saw the dogs frothing and vomiting. They tried to help but couldn’t save them. By next morning, the committee disposed of the bodies ,” said Pravalika.
The activist also alleged that this has done under the supervision of township president and night security personnel.
However, when contacted, the Ghatkesar Police officials told TOI, “We have visited the Infosys campus to check if there are any
bodies of poisoned dogs but did not find any such evidence. We are still investigating the case”.
