A rescue and rehab home for distressed and abandoned dogs, Casper’s home was founded in the year 2014 by Ms. Vineeta Arora. It is an NGO that is tirelessly working for the animals in Agra. Vineeta has been striving endlessly for more than 20 years to re-home desi dogs and to eliminate the discrimination against them. Casper is presently a home to more than 60 dogs in a small 250 square yard private space with rehab units and a fully equipped clinic for basic treatment, post-operative care and vaccinations while maintaining the meals, health, and well-being of the dogs.
She has formed a very effective network of vets who treat animals on the spot for a small fee and has also built a strong network of volunteers who are tirelessly aiding and rescuing animals at any hour of the day. In the last 12 months, they have treated and rescued more than 1000 dogs. She has raised awareness in Agra through her adoption programs, ARV drives, education programmes, and first aid drives. She has also been raising awareness on a large scale through her articles in newspapers, the most recent titled, “Desi Se Bhedbhav Kyu” and by writing theatre scripts like “Ek Jaan ji keemat pachaas rupaye” and “Azaad Desh ka Ghulam” to educate people about animal laws. She has also written a book titled,“Odyssey of Street Dogs” which talks about the discrimination against the native breed, which was appreciated by Mrs. Maneka Gandhi and actors like Jackie Shroff and Shekhar Suman. In the last three years, she has got more than 200 dogs sterilised and 75 dogs adopted.
FIAPO congratulates Ms. Vineeta Arora on the prolific work that she has been carrying out for the animals.
